GET INTERESTED IN SERVICE!!
Leaders are not necessarily grand individuals who preside over countries and large companies; rather, leaders include those unique individuals who make a difference in the world, particularly those who strive to serve their respective communities. A great leader once said, "You must be the change you wish to see in the world." Consequently, if you want the world to become a better place, you must put in the time and effort stipulated to attain a better world, one step at a time.
Wheeler High School has developed a program to encourage community service both within our school and throughout our surrounding community, and we want YOU to be a part of it. You don't have to be wealthy or exceptionally intelligent or even flamboyant. In fact, all you need to do is find something you love doing and invest your time to make it enjoyable for others.
The Service Letter:
All Wheeler students who complete 40+ hours of community service will earn a service letter and be eligible to join the Wheeler Community Service Honors Society the following year. Click here for guidelines.

Wheeler Community Service Hours - What It Is and Is Not
The Wheeler Community Service hours have specific criteria to become “Wheeler” recognized hours. Individual service hours for things such as neighborhood, church/synagogue/temples mission trips, internships and other outside Wheeler volunteer events are not counted towards a Wheeler letter and these are hours that you should document for yourself that you can write or discuss on your resume, interviews, etc. In other words, they are very important, but are classified as “Service Hours in Addition to those earned for the Wheeler Letter.”
